Western Australia is home to some of Australia's most celebrated wine producers. Here's a look at the wineries behind our WA range.
Houghton
Founded in 1836, Houghton is one of Australia's oldest wineries, its colourful history includes tales of pioneer Scots, bandits and generations of winemaking craftsmanship. In the past three decades alone, Houghton wines have won over 250 trophies and 4,800 medals at domestic and international wine shows. Only 14 senior winemakers have led the winery in its entire history - current Senior Winemaker Courtney Treacher has delivered over 20 vintages across the full WA range. The icon wines, Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon, Thomas Yule Shiraz and C.W. Ferguson Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec, are all sourced from Frankland River and represent some of the finest expressions of Western Australian red wine. The Wisdom range from Margaret River offers a brilliant entry point into the Houghton story, while the newly launched EV37 Old Vine Chenin Blanc sits alongside the icon reds as a flagship white - a significant addition to one of WA's most celebrated ranges. Brookland Valley
At Brookland Valley, passion for wine, dedication to the land and pride in calling Margaret River home defines everything they do. The unique vineyard sits on the Wilyabrup Brook, less than two kilometres from the Indian Ocean. It is this proximity to water that has a profound effect on the vineyard, with the cooling sea breeze allowing grapes to ripen slowly and develop exceptional flavour. The Reserve Chardonnay and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon sit at the top of the range, structured, refined and built to age. The Estate range offer the same Margaret River quality at a more accessible price. The Goundrey and Amberley wine brands are two more approachable WA wines well worth exploring, including the much-loved Amberley Chenin Blanc, one of Western Australia's most cherished whites.
