McLaren Vale is home to some of South Australia's most historic and celebrated wine estates and we're proud to work with two of the finest.
Reynella
Established by John Reynell in 1838, the Reynella winery enjoys the unrivalled prestige of being the birthplace of South Australia's internationally renowned wine industry and is the proud home of the State's oldest operating wine cellar. In 1850, John Reynell took a young apprentice named Thomas Hardy under his wing, leading to decades of wine expertise and ultimately one of Australia's most celebrated winemaking dynasties. Today, Reynella crafts exceptional Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon using a century-old basket press, a traditional, gentle technique that extracts maximum flavour with minimum harshness. The result is wines of real intensity, elegance and cellaring potential. Since 2008, Reynella has garnered 53 trophies and 311 gold medals, a remarkable record that speaks to the consistency and quality of every release.
Hardys & Tintara
The connection between Hardys and McLaren Vale runs deep. Thomas Hardy, who learned his craft as a young apprentice under John Reynell at Reynella in 1850, went on to become one of the most significant figures in the history of Australian wine, widely regarded as the father of the wine industry in South Australia. Today the Hardys cellar door is located at the historic Tintara winery in the heart of McLaren Vale, one of the region's most iconic buildings and well worth a visit. The premium Hardys ranges, including the iconic Eileen Hardy and Thomas Hardy labels, draw on McLaren Vale fruit as a key component of their carefully selected multi-region blends.
