An expressive Eden Valley Riesling that shows delicacy and vibrancy true to the subregion. The parcels of Riesling were chosen carefully with consideration of the vineyard quality, stylistic expression, and potential longevity. With bright jasmine characters and subtle bath salts, this wine is a true representation of Eden Valley. This wine has been encapsulated with great drinkability now but will also age beautifully with careful cellaring.
AROMA - Nose is delicate but lively with attractive jasmine florals and a bright lemon citrus fragrance.
TASTE - Palate has lovely direction with a crisp acid line creating a slight chalk like texture. There is a wonderful delicacy and balance between the citrus fruit weight and floral high tones creating a moreish finish.
FOOD MATCH - Kingfish Crudo, Oysters with lemon or something with more substance such as pork buns or a creamy white risotto
93 Points – Mike Bennie – WBM – Australia’s Wine Business Magazine 2025 – “There’s a flesh and intensity here that meet the brief for St Hugo, while upholding excellent lemon and grapefruit purity and zesty tension. There’s great complexity of spice and apple, with coiled intensity and drive, making for a Riesling of great promise in the cellar.”
93 Points – Tyson Stelzer – www.tysonstelzer.com 2025 – “The aim here is for vibrancy, florals, purity and freshness, trying to differentiate from Steingarten with more fleshiness; flavoursome though not necessarily any riper. Looking for terpenes more aligned to St Hugo compared with the citrus style of Steingarten. And winemaking aligned to highlighting the aromatics. The sourcing is pretty consistent over the years. Roxton vineyard is a key here, and Buckfellas and young quarry.”
"Light straw with flashes of green and aromas of freshly squeezed lime, grapefruit and green apple with hints of orange blossom, jasmine, crushed stone, makrut lime and lemon zest. Tight, finely structured and vivid, with a swell of limey fruit and minerally acidity on the back end." Dave Brookes 2024
