"The Planted Series is a tribute to the centenarian vines from Barossa and to the growers who have nurtured them. It is because of their experience as world class viticulturists that these vines produce exceptional quality. The 2015 vintage release celebrates the Noack family, sixth generation Barossa farmers, who have tended these vines for three decades", Helen McCarthy, Chief Winemaker
Deep crimson with soft brick hues. A bright and lifted bouquet with lovely floral notes, combined with hints of white pepper. Complexity develops further in the glass with dense blackberry and dried herbs. A very elegant and balanced wine. Delightful palate weight, more medium than full bodied, with layers of dark fruits and dark chocolate, with lovely herbal notes of dried bay leaf and a flinty mid palate. The tannins are firm, silky and polished with a long and even finish.
Peak drinking between 2040 - 2050

"Hand-picked fruit. Matured in new and seasoned French oak barrels. St Hallett has a long history uniting some of the Barossas finest sites in Old Block. This new flagship sings the virtues of a single site, in the soothing voice of ancient Eden Valley vines. In spite of the massive bottle, this is not part of the bigger is better brigade. Breathtakingly fresh and pure at 6 years old, the glorious 2015 season unites wonderful rose petal fragrance with tangy morello cherry fruits, a backdrop of bright acidity and superb, fine-ground tannins. Grand testimony to Toby Barlows sensitivity and considerable talent."Tyson Stelzer
“The bouquet is fragrant and expressive. Spicy/savoury aromas run along and through the exquisitely silky palate, with its base of cedar and purple and blue fruits encased in a diaphanous web of polished tannins and oak. The magic of this wine lies in its perfection that suspends time, making it gorgeous to drink now or in decades to come. 14.6% alc, Diam99 points, drink to 2040, $450”JAMES HALLIDAY - WINE COLUMNIST @winecompanion - THE WEEKEND AUSTRALIAN MAGAZINE DECEMBER 5, 2020

The nose has aromas of coal smoke, violet, wet stones, blueberries, pepper and dry woody spices. Licorice and sarsaparilla. The palate has striking intensity and depth with a very intense yet fresh feel to the palate. Sleek, long, glossy and melted tannins. Delicious. Focused. Beautifully refreshing acidity. A distinctive and impressive new release from St Hallett. Drink or hold.”
