The 2012 Petaluma Coonawarra is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (76%), Merlot (20%) and Shiraz (4%), all form our Evans Vineyard planted in 1968.

This Cabernet dominant wine has black currant with a hint of plum and is an elegant style with spice and cedar and wonderful soft sandy tannins. Mocha and a lovely hint of Cabernet mint and leaf herald the 2012 Coonawarra as a wine to enjoy with a few years in bottle, but one that will age gracefully for many years, as so many Petaluma Coonawarra reds have.

A finely detailed portrait of cabernet framed by the contribution of the merlot and (a little) shiraz. It is only medium-bodied, but its precision and length are utterly convincing, helped no doubt by the great vintage."
