Only produced in exceptional years, the Leasingham Individual Vineyard Provis Cabernet represents the best that Clare Valley can deliver. Select parcels from Patch #51 are hand-picked, berry sorted and cold soaked before undergoing a slow and carefully controlled natural fermentation in small open fermenters and then basket pressed in a 97 year old Whitehill press.

Vintage 2016 proved to be quite unique with high quality fruit being delivered to the winery with well above average yields. Cool winter and warm spring was preceded by a late rainfall event that boosted vine growth and refreshed soils. Closer to harvest bumper crops were aided into ripening by mild-summer temperatures and sporadic rain. Picking at optimum maturity has resulted in wines which display vibrant bright colours with ripe flavour profiles, rounded flavoursome palates and soft fine tannins.

Purple red with a bright scarlet hue in colour. Displaying lifted aromas of red currants, blackberry and cassis combine with dark chocolate and hints of bay leaf & vanillin. A powerful palate with layers of intense dark fruit, aniseed, ironstone, dark chocolate & mint combining with more savoury elements of black olive, bay leaf and crushed herbs. A wine of great length and density, finely balanced with ample fine tannins and oak spice that provide structure, complexity and exceptional length to the palate.

Perfect with roasted duck breast with Pecan Puree. Drink now or carefully cellar for up to 15 years.
