Coonawarra's 2015 vintage was amongst the earliest on record. An ideal growing season of slightly above average temperatures and dry conditions produced Shiraz fruit in exceptional condition. 

Katnook Prodigy is created from small parcels of premium Shiraz grapes sourced from sites that have consistently produced fruit with outstanding depth of flavour, excellent colour and firm tannin structures

Nose: An array of ripe plum, raspberry and a hint of spice combined with
vanillin oak aromas.

Palate: Complex layers of rich plum and red berries seamlessly integrate with oak maturation notes. Excellent structure and fine-grained tannins contribute to a lengthy, lingering finish.

Food Matching: The concentrated flavours of Prodigy will match full flavoured dishes such wagyu beef teppanyaki, herb crusted rack of lamb or roasted vegetable risotto.

Cellaring Potential: Cellared correctly, Prodigy will age gracefully for up to 20 years.

Oozing with blueberry, black cherry and a hint of kirsch, the nicely wrought tannins-oak and grape-imbue a sophistication to the melee while imparting tone. The acidity feels right enough, giving pull to a long, nourishing finish. The sort of wine that allows you to have your cake and eat it too."
