Lifted aromatics of cocoa nib, ripe berries and almond frangipane rise from the glass, layered with a hint of vanilla.

A powerful and sweet black plum with cherry glide across the palate with chocolate, vanilla bean and an array of dried spices. The richness of the wine is hugely profound but is balanced by dense tannins that display a balance and silk like smoothness to the finish, carrying the fruit and spice long after the wine is consumed. A powerful but elegant palate.

Pair with Osso Bucco or slow roasted lamb shoulder.

96 Points– Tony Love – Wine Pilot 2026 “St Hallett’s Blackwell Shiraz - one of several elite Shiraz expressions under the brand - takes its fruit from mature vines in the northern districts of the Barossa Valley, celebrating its reputed and recognised intense, dark Shiraz characters, here entwined with backdrop suggestions of rosemary and sage before diving even more deeply into black cherry driven palate characters and sensitively matched tannin threads in the finish. A wine with both regional and varietal gravitas as well as genuine sensory pleasures.”

95 Points - Melissa Moore - The Real Review 2025 – “Deep, dark purple in the glass, with an appealing nose of ripe raspberry, blueberry and blackberry framed by vanilla oak. The palate is concentrated and pure, with silky fruit lifted by bright acidity and a muscular tannin frame. Lovely savoury long finish”

95 Points – Jay Jordan – Wine Pilot 2025 - "This is a marvellous wine that honours the significant contribution of longtime St. Hallett winemaker Stuart Blackwell. It's from a slightly cooler season, and the result is quite a vibrant, more medium- to full-bodied wine with beautifully expressive red fruit characters. The colour is brilliant and bright with subtle purple hues. The nose has a lovely red berry, slightly blackberry plum note with some sweet vanilla pod balance. On the palate, there's bright red fruits and a little dark chocolate with understated dried herb influences. It's smooth and quite velvety with textured tannins just adding the structure to support the long finish. Ultimately, it's an elegant and most poised expression of the Barossa and St. Hallett.”

94 Points – Dave Brookes – Halliday Wine Companion 2026 “Shiraz sourced from predominantly northern Barossa fruit. Deep magenta/crimson with aromas of juicy plum, blackberry and blueberry fruits. Hints of baking spices, licorice, dark chocolate, violets, olive tapenade, vanillin oak, fruitcake and pan juices. Elegant, and it could be from nowhere else but the Barossa, with plush black and blue fruits, layered spice, fine-grained tannins and an appealing fresh line of acidity.”
