Barossa Shiraz at its finest, showcasing the distinctive sub-regional characteristics of fruit selected from the northwestern corner of the Barossa Valley. Dark and structural with underlying minerality, this is a wine with a long life ahead of it.
Earthy, smoky, gravelly nose, with hints of cured meats and gunflint, intriguing and complex. Robust and very dark on the palate, plush and powerful, mouthcoating density of fruit, that is ripe and textural. A substantial wine with longevity and presence.
Pairs well with Rib eye, portobello mushrooms with rocket and blue cheese pesto.
Ideal drinking window 2025 - 2031
95 Points - Dave Brookes Halliday Companion 2023 "Fruit sourced from the Fabal vineyard in the northwest of the Barossa Valley. It sits true to its northern roots with dense blackberry, black cherry and dark plum fruits that have a real flexing, inky tension to their form. Layers of baking spices, licorice, cedar, crème de cassis, earth, roasted nuts, vanillin oak and brandied fruits. There is a firmness and sinewy shape to the tannins, begging for time in the cellar and with that, you should be in for quite a treat indeed."
