Barossa Shiraz at its finest, showcasing the distinctive sub-regional characteristics of fruit selected from the Rowland Flat sub region of the Barossa Valley. Bright and vibrant with dark red fruits and a plush opulence this is a wine approachable in it’s youth and the depth of flavour to age.
Floral, spicy, raspberry fruit, with dark smokey coco powder undertones. Elegant fine tannins are chalky and seamless, bright raspberry fruit is opulent and fine, leaving an impression of sophistication and restraint. Lovely and long.
Ideal drinking window 2022 - 2031
96 Points- Andrew Caillard MW - The Vintage Journal 2022 "Deep crimson. Lovely blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate aromas with marzipan notes. Beautifully concentrated wine with blackberry pastille, black cherry fruits, inky/ graphite notes, fine slinky/ chocolaty tannins and plentiful marzipan. Vanilla notes. Finishes chocolaty firm and minerally with kirsch notes. 100% new French oak. Now–2035"
96 Points - Ray Jordan - West Australian 2022 "It’s from two different vineyards that are now about 100 years old. Power and poise with great palate texture and integration displaying a characteristic chalkiness. Although it was matured in 100 per cent French oak the fruit intensity has absorbed it with style. It’s open and generous with great poise that will handle further cellaring. Quite different from the Fabal vineyard shiraz and a good example of the diversity of style in the Barossa. 96/100"
95 Points- Tyson Stelzer - Barossa Magazine 2023 "Deep-set black fruits and spice are framed in gloriously fine-grained tannins of profound persistence. There's an enduring confidence to these 1921 vines on the banks of Jacob's Creek, with the resilience to uphold 100% new French oak and 12% whole bunches."
