Tasting Note

Lifted aromatics of cocoa nib, ripe berries and almond frangipane rise from the glass, layered with a hint of vanilla.

On the palate, rich black plum and cherry flow through the centre, supported by notes of dark chocolate, baking spice and fine oak. The wine is full-bodied with dense yet silky tannins, giving structure and balance without heaviness. A long, polished finish carries both fruit and spice, making this a powerful yet elegant expression of Barossa Shiraz.

Gold Medal- Royal Hobart Wine Show 2025

95 Points- Melissa Moore - The Real Review 2025 – “Deep, dark purple in the glass, with an appealing nose of ripe raspberry, blueberry and blackberry framed by vanilla oak. The palate is concentrated and pure, with silky fruit lifted by bright acidity and a muscular tannin frame. Lovely savoury long finish

95 Points – Jay Jordan – Wine Pilot 2025 - "This is a marvellous wine that honours the significant contribution of longtime St. Hallett winemaker Stuart Blackwell. It's from a slightly cooler season, and the result is quite a vibrant, more medium- to full-bodied wine with beautifully expressive red fruit characters. The colour is brilliant and bright with subtle purple hues. The nose has a lovely red berry, slightly blackberry plum note with some sweet vanilla pod balance. On the palate, there's bright red fruits and a little dark chocolate with understated dried herb influences. It's smooth and quite velvety with textured tannins just adding the structure to support the long finish. Ultimately, it's an elegant and most poised expression of the Barossa and St. Hallett.”
