Originally from the St Hallett Old Block vineyard, this wine was first made by Robert O’Callaghan and Stuart Blackwell in 1980. To qualify for Old Block Shiraz, the vineyards must be planted on their own root stock and be more than 50 years old.

NOSE - A big floral lift with cherry and raspberry, followed by a secondary layer of leather, dark fruits, dried herbs and nutmeg

PALATE - Beautifully balanced and elegant. It opens with a fine fruit burst followed by a dense dark fruit core and a long even finish. The tannins are fine and polished, folding into layer after layer of flavour. It is an elegant wine with great complexity that will further unfold over time.

PEAK DRINKING - Will age gracefully for 25 years.
