2018 Vintage saw a typically warm and dry growing season in Coonawarra with temperatures generally 1 degree Celsius above average. Spring rains brought good growth and soil moisture out of a relatively dry winter. January and February saw near ideal conditions deliver Cabernet Sauvignon with intense colour and flavour development. Mild conditions throughout March allowed for the harvest to occur at optimal ripeness.

COLOUR - Deep red

NOSE - Aromas of blackberry, black currant, mint, bay leaf and chocolate.

PALATE - Dark fruit flavours of cassis, black cherry and blackberry with notes of green peppercorn, spice, tobacco, chocolate and vanilla.

PEAK DRINKING - On release. Ability to cellar for 10+ years.

FOOD MATCH - Enjoy with roasted duck breast and pecan puree.

96 Points - Ray Jordan 2023 - "Things came together rather well in 2018 and this Cabernet and Merlot blend is an outstanding example of the vintage. Expertly crafted to highlight the dark fruits, while fusing traces of cedar and dark chocolate with a hint of mint. Fine chalky tannins with a slightly oyster shell edge. The oak is neatly integrated, with its fine grain a feature. Has excellent cellaring potential."

95 Points - Andrew Caillard 2023 - "Medium deep crimson. Lovely pure cassis aromas with roasted chestnut, marzipan, hint graphite notes. Well concentrated claret style with very attractive blackcurrant pastille, blackberry fruits, fine grainy firm tannins and well-balanced new oak complexity. Finishes claret firm with a lacy/ graphite plume. Lovely wine showing wonderful completeness, maturity and balance. Drink now – 2034"
