A cool climate Chardonnay from Canterbury, New Zealand with characters of stone fruit leading the way and subtle oak in a supporting role. Savoury, mineral notes to the palate and textural qualities draw out to a refreshing finish.

This Chardonnay comes from the Home Block Vineyard. The Chardonnay fruit was hand harvested and gently pressed to barrel where it was left to ferment with wild yeast. The wine ferment and malolactic ferment both went through with ease, a tribute to the meticulous work in the vineyard. We used 20% new French oak puncheons to contribute texture and the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered

“Complex and attractive bouquet with aromas of fresh red apple and white peaches, a layer of wood spices and toasty barrel. Additional aromas of gun flintd greywacke stone showcase minerality and wild ferment highlights. Weighty, crisp, fruity and flinty on the palate. Flavours of wood and fruit are intertwined with stones and mineral then vanilla and baking spices of barrel work. Dry, balanced, youthful and well made.” Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier.

"This is stylish and elegantly composed with nectarine, fig, lemon peel and nougat characters on the nose with a hint of oatmeal complexity. The palate displays lovely weight and creamy mouthfeel, well supported by bright acidity." 93 Points 5 starsSam Kim, Wine Orbit
