The 2018 Petaluma B&V Vineyard Shiraz is a deep and intense crimson purple. An elegant and vibrant bouquet with ripe red fruits with a hint of liquorice. A beautiful and elegant wine with an abundance of red berry fruits and layers of white pepper and spice. There are soft long lingering tannins with a hint of char on the finish.
Peak drinking 2020-2030

95 GOLD POINTS - Halliday Companion 2022
Certified organic, in both vineyard and winery. 19 months in French oak, 43% new. An intense dark colour. Masses of rich shiraz fruit, with the oak woven through to start – but not to add timber, more a dark set of Asian spices, anise and nutmeg among it. These dwell on the palate before a wave of sticky tannins wash in, providing a foundation for a long, rich finish.
96 Points Andrew Caillard 2020 “… An elegantly styled shiraz. Will develop more richness with an extra few years of cellaring.”
