Katnook Prodigy is created from small parcels of premium Shiraz grapes sourced from the estate’s terra rossa vineyards that consistently produce exceptional fruit with outstanding depth of flavour and firm tannin structures.

Food Matching: This wine would match well with lamb backstrap with roasted new potatoes, or try a roasted beetroot salad with pumpkin and pine nuts.

Palate: This is a lively shiraz, that dances on the palate. Bright, rich fruits, such as blueberry and mulberry are supported by complexing flavours of sandalwood and spice. Bitter chocolate tannins that make the palate feel luxurious, the wine is supple yet has a long line and drive – this is a supremely elegant cool climate shiraz.

Cellaring Potential: This is a beautiful shiraz which will continue to grow 15+ years.

Did someone say bacon fat? This is supremely aromatic and hedonistic – there is fresh maple, forest-fruit compote, salted licorice, raw cocoa, blood plum and mulberries. In the mouth the wine follows suit, the trump card – nay, the bower – is the web of savoury tannin that extends to all reaches of the mouth. This is chewy and good. A beautiful wine.
