The 2020 vintage was a characterised by warm and dry weather patterns that led to an early commencement to harvest. These conditions in the lead-up to harvest resulted in reduced yields grown in near perfect conditions for most of the growing season.
A brilliant and vibrant Strawberry red with a pale scarlet hue, the wine displays aromas of dark berry fruits, beetroot and black cherry with hints of whole bunch and complex sulfide. Further complexed by the subtle influence of French oak spice and charriness. Medium bodied and sweetly fruited, full of ripe berry fruits, cherries and fine tannins. Subtle use of oak combines with a mineral acid drive to provide a palate of balance and silky texture.
Food matches include charcuterie, crispy duck pancakes, roast chicken or quail, mushroom risotto or soft cheeses. A wine to be enjoyed upon release, or will reward those who patiently cellar over the next 5 years.
