VINTAGE CONDITIONS - The 2019 vintage was one of the driest we have experienced. Below average winter rainfall, coupled with a dry spring and summer resulted in naturally lower yields across the vineyards. These conditions resulted in rich and concentrated wines, although low in quantity.
COLOUR - Inky purple, Deep and dark with bright hues
NOSE - Dark chocolate, mocha, plum with caramel lift. Sweet spice and cacao nib. Although serious Shiraz black fruits show the layers are extended with earth and vanilla.
PALATE - The tannins are firm but fine, with a full weight and texture carrying liquorice, black spice and some juniper. Full with intense flavours, the wine carries through for an intensely long finish
PEAK DRINKING 2031+
FOOD MATCH - Filet Mignon or Beef Wellington
94 Points Andrew Caillard May 2021 "Deep crimson. Lifted dark plum, blackberry, chinotto aromas with mocha/ wood varnish notes. Densely concentrated palate with plentiful saturated inky dark fruits, fine persistent grainy/ chocolaty tannins, attractive mid-palate volume and underlying roasted walnut notes. Finishes claret-firm and bitter-sweet with plenty of mineral length. Generous and vigorous. Drink soon – 2030"
